The Land Management Program is an education and advisory service provided to the rural landholders of the Mount Lofty Ranges, Barossa Valley, Adelaide Plains and the Fleurieu Peninsula.
Through th Program, rural landholders can participate in low-cost education courses, and demonstration field days, and receive one-on-one farm advice. These education programs and education and advisory services are backed up with a seasonal technical newsletter Small Talk.
The Program aims are:
- to raise the level of awareness, understanding and skills of landholders, and
- to encourage the adoption of sustainable land use and land management practices.
Activities delivered by the Program include:
- Land management workshops, field days and training courses
- Free property visits (including pre-purchase), property reports and planning advice
- Referrals to ‘on-ground’ works funding groups & technical support agencies.
- A quarterly Newsletter (Small Talk) to 29,000 landholders, and a monthly calendar of regional events.
