Review of Development Plans  - Discussion Paper, June 2007, URPS
The Natural Resources Management Act requires that a “Regional NRM Plan must identify any policies reflected in a Development Plan under the Development Act 1993 that applies within its region that should, in the opinion of the board, be reviewed under that Act in order to promote the objects of this Act or to improve the relationship between the policies in the Development Plan and the policies reflected in the board's plan.”

This report has been prepared in conjunction with the 26 local councils within the Board's region to meet this requirement of the Act. The report has provided input into the development of the Board's NRM Plan, and will be the basis for ongoing work with local government to improve development plans to achieve better natural resource management outcomes.
