Social and Economic Profile, March 2007, Urban and Regional Planning Solutions.
This study was undertaken in order to establish NRM priorities that take into account relevant social and economic factors. The report provides a summary of the social and economic characteristics of the region and has been used to inform the preparation of the Board’s NRM Plan. The Study provides an appreciation of the key social and economic factors that may impact on natural resource management in the region and has assisted the Board to consider how natural resource management priorities may impact on the region’s social and economic profile.

Review of Strategies, Plans and Policies - Discussion Paper, June 2007, URPS
There are a wide range of state and local plans and policies that may influence the management of Natural Resources in the Boards's region. This report provides a summary of key strategies, plans and policies of state and local government that may influence natural resource management. Information in this report has been used in the development of the Board's NRM Plan, in order to ensure that the NRM Plan is consistent with other planning documents.

Review of Development Plans - Discussion Paper, June 2007, URPS
The Natural Resources Management Act requires that a “Regional NRM Plan must identify any policies reflected in a Development Plan under the Development Act 1993 that applies within its region that should, in the opinion of the board, be reviewed under that Act in order to promote the objects of this Act or to improve the relationship between the policies in the Development Plan and the policies reflected in the board's plan.”
This report has been prepared in conjunction with the 26 local councils within the Board's region to meet this requirement of the Act. The report has provided input into the development of the Board's NRM Plan, and will be the basis for ongoing work with local government to improve development plans to achieve better natural resource management outcomes.

Management of Water Affecting Activities under the NRM Act - March 2007, Centre for Environmental management and Compliance, University of South Australia.
The Board's NRM Plan can set out the policy for the management of water affecting activities (WAA). As part of reviewing existing WAA policies within Catchment Water Management Plans and considering options for the future management of water affecting activities the Board undertook a review of the options for the better management of water affecting activities. This information was used particularly in the development of Part D of the Board's NRM Plan.

Stage One Report – January 2007
This report summaries the first stage of the community engagement program that was conducted by Square Holes Research Pty Ltd.
Stage Two Report
The second stage was an on-line survey sent out to community, business and academic organisations, introduced through phone calls made by NRM Board and Group members. The survey was then sent out to those who were interested in giving their input and feedback.
Stage Three Reports – June to July 2007
A series of community and stakeholder workshops and forums were conducted across the Region.
