Barossa Bushgardens is a regional native flora centre, conserving, promoting and supplying the Barossa region's unique local native plants. The gardens are an initiative of The Barossa Council with support funding from the Adelaide and Mount Lofty Ranges NRM Board.
Situated on a 7 hectare site in Coulthard Reserve, off Penrice Road, in Nuriootpa, this community project provides a reference point for anyone wishing to learn more about the region's local native plants.
Barossa Bushgardens boasts six current feature gardens, such as the "CFS Fire-wise Garden" and the "Truly Australian Front Garden". These water-wise display gardens demonstrate how native plants can be grown in our own backyards.
Walking trails, interpretive signage and individually signed plants make a leisurely stroll through the gardens a worthwhile experience. For more information on the gardens visit The Barossa Council's website.
